Guri Sandvik has made the boxes in plastic clay. They are shaped from a piece of stoneware clay, split in half and hollowed out inside. The shapes are tight/"cubistic". Each box is unique.

Most of the objects have a "dry" matte surface. They have been fired several times with a glaze added with various oxides. They appear like small sculptures and are also great for hiding small treasures in.

Guri Sandvik is a visual artist and ceramicist. Her design language is minimalist with a clear contrast between tight lines and sensitive tactile surfaces. The objects are geometric and sculptural and cast in porcelain and terracotta. The inside is glazed and the outside meticulously plastered. The shapes and the various series are inspired by architecture, buildings and the space between them. All the series are made in colored porcelain, terracotta and earthenware and are produced by hand in Sandvik's studio in Oslo.
