Weave kitchen towel Red

Kr 250

Weave is a lovely kitchen towel in 100% cotton from Solberg Spinderi.

The pattern has been developed in collaboration between the designer duo günzler.polmar and Solberg Spinder and is the result of a deep dive into Solberg Veveri's pattern archive. Victoria Günzler and Sara Polmar were inspired by traditional weaving patterns, which they then translated into a more modern expression. The finished textile was included in Norway Designs' exhibition Norway Designs NÅ Vol 2 in 2015.

NOTE: Since the pattern report extends over 2 meters and the towels that are 75 cm are cut from the report, each towel will be slightly different from each other and thus also unique. In this way, the entire textile is also utilized and nothing needs to go to waste.

A/S Solberg Spinderi was founded in Drammen in 1818, and belongs to one of the earliest industries in Norway. They utilized the waterfall in the Solbergvassdraget for their production, and throughout their more than 200-year-old history have delivered high-quality textile goods. As early as 1821, they were able to offer the first machine-spun yarn, and they were also early
out both with pension schemes for its employees and secured housing for its employees.
In 2007, it was decided to stop all production and close down the weaving mill in Norway. Since then, Solberg Spinderi has spun and woven its products in Portugal, but has continued its administration in Norway and uses skilled Norwegian designers such as Sara Polmar and
Victoria Günzler to develop new products.
