Philippines X Fat Small
Filipine X is a soap dish designed by Oslo Aula and produced and developed in collaboration with Norwegian Trash. Every year, Norwegians throw away 540,000 tonnes of plastic. More than 80% end up in incinerators or landfill. Why does this happen, when every kilogram of recycled plastic saves us from using two liters of fossil oil? With Filipine X, we want to start a conversation about how design can accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable and circular future.
Each bowl is pressed manually at Norwegian Trash in Oslo. The bowl is made from 100% local plastic waste. Filipine X is washable and fully recyclable. Each individual bowl will be unique with its varying color marbling
Oslo Aula is an anthropological design agency that develops visual expressions within a spectrum of the design field, such as branding, set design, interior architecture and product development. The common denominator in their work is that they draw an anthropological way of thinking into the subject of design, i.e. the study of people and cultures.
Oslo Aula's main goal is to uncover and understand how we humans shape and are shaped by our surroundings; the homes we live in, the things we surround ourselves with and the art we like. By entering into our projects with a focus on these relationships between people, space and object, they constantly work in parallel between actor and recipient, and in that way create a more directed and sustainable final product.
