Maria Øverbye is a self-taught artist who lives and works in an old school from 1881 in Kjelsås in Oslo. Øverbye has worked with sculptures in earthenware clay for 20 years and drawing and painting for ten years, and has had solo and group exhibitions in large parts of Norway. The works revolve around the process itself, and often the strong and vulnerable arise in one and the same expression in her works. Øverbye's fascination with both stillness and movement can be traced in her works.
