Beautiful spherical ceramic sculpture in shades of green and grey from the Norwegian craftswoman Mette Strøm. The sculpture has small fired ceramic spheres inside, which move when you move it. The sculpture can be placed on many different edges/ways.
Mette Strøm is a Norwegian ceramist with education from the Holbæk Academy of Fine Arts and the Oslo Academy of Fine Arts. She is a member of the Norwegian Association of Craftsmen and has participated in several national and international group exhibitions. Strøm is known for her tactile and organic ceramic works, where she combines form, texture and sound in a unique way.
She is particularly known for her ceramic eggs, which were originally used as glaze testers, but through experimentation with small balls inside, developed a life of their own with sound. Strøm also explores the possibilities of glaze by using techniques such as double dipping and layering, which give the works depth and complexity.
Strøm is an artist who challenges the traditional boundaries of ceramics and creates works that are both visual and tactile experiences, and she has established herself as an important figure within Norwegian crafts.
