Moomin cup Filifjonka
Filifjonka Mummikrus from Arabia has a design by Tove Slotte with a motif based on Tove Jansson's book "Late in November" from 1970 and the cartoon "Klåttdjurets frieri" which she published together with Lars Jansson in 1959. For Filifjonka, a mother of three, order, cleanliness and predictability very important and something that makes her feel in control of her life. If Mummimamma is the one who doesn't get hung up on small things, then Filifjonka is the opposite! Filifjonka is anxious and uses cleaning to try to get her life in order. She is strict in raising her children and does not want them to have any bad habits. If the truth is to be revealed, Filifjonka is very envious of Mummimamma and her bohemian life, but she finds it difficult to break her neurotic pattern.
Rörstrand set up a factory in Helsinki on a plot of land called Arabia and in 1874 production started. Arabia became a pioneer in Finnish design and has created the popular Moomin cups. The products are characterized by their beauty, quality and functionality, the cups have become very popular collector's items all over the world. Arabia Moomin is based on Tove Jansson's original drawings and illustrations.
