Arne Tjomsland 1955 The Polar Bear Oak
The polar bear was designed by the renowned Norwegian designer Arne Tjomsland in 1955.
Arne Tjomsland's fascination with polar bears stretches back to his childhood. The reading of polar literature and many visits to the Zoological Museum in Oslo, where his father was employed, stimulated the imagination of the young Arne Tjomsland. It was this fascination that later took concrete form with the Polar Bear that Arne Tjomsland designed as an adult.
Despite the simple expression, the majestic animal stands out clearly from the strict design language. A complete piece of craftsmanship where the beautiful details are highlighted through the soft and round lines. The figure will therefore fit in with any kind of decor and style.
