Kurre Kitchen towel

Kr 200

Kitchen towel decorated with Marimekko's pattern Kurre - which means Squirrel in Finnish. The towel is made from a mix of cotton and linen, and 6% of the cotton and 21% of the linen are recycled.

The pattern is made by Aino-Maija Metsola, who has drawn many other designs for Marimekko with little stories from the forest. Kurre tells the story of a busy squirrel family that collects. Squirrels were a common sight in the designer's childhood and with Kurre she has immortalized the memory.

Marimekko is a Finnish design house that is recognized worldwide for its original prints and colors. Founded in 1951 by the visionary Armi Ratia, Marimekko is one of the world's first true lifestyle brands that combines fashion, bags and accessories as well as interiors in a timeless, sustainable and functional design. The heart and soul of Marimekko's designs is their own textile factory in Helsinki, where the bold patterns and colors come to life. Around one million meters of fabric are printed at the factory each year.
