Piccolo Hair clip

Kr 380

A strong hair clip in acrylic, made with fabric scraps with the Piccolo pattern on it. This fabric is printed at Marimekko's factory in Helsinki and the hair clip consists of 70% recycled acrylic. The fabric is under a layer of acrylic.

Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi designed the pattern Piccolo in 1953, the same year she joined Marmekko as a designer. Piccolo is a striped pattern drawn with a brush. Three years after Vuokko drew Piccolo, she made the shirt Jokapoika from the fabric Piccolo. The shirt has become a classic and continues to feature in Marimekko's clothing collections year after year.

Marimekko is a Finnish design house that is recognized worldwide for its original prints and colors. Founded in 1951 by the visionary Armi Ratia, Marimekko is one of the world's first true lifestyle brands that combines fashion, bags and accessories as well as interiors in a timeless, sustainable and functional design. The heart and soul of Marimekko's designs is their own textile factory in Helsinki, where the bold patterns and colors come to life. Around one million meters of fabric are printed at the factory each year.
