Maria Øverbye
Maria Øverbye is a self-taught artist who lives and works in an old school from 1881 at Kjelsås in Oslo. Øverbye has worked with sculptures in stoneware clay for 20 years and drawing and painting for ten years, and has had solo and collective exhibitions in large parts of Norway. The works revolve around the process itself, and often the strong and vulnerable appear in one and the same expression in her works. Øverby's fascination for both stillness and movement can be traced in the works.
