Nilsen Design was first founded in the USA, and 10 years later - in 1981, Helmar Nielsen opened a German factory together with Rainer Mönchmeier. Nielsen Design has its own aluminum press which makes it possible to produce picture frame moldings in an industrial way, in large quantities and with customized sizes. For wooden frames, wood from sustainable forestry is used and their slats consist exclusively of FSC-certified pine.
